Local Galleries, Venues & Frame Shops

Here are links to our local galleries. Remember that gallery owners are very busy people. It is best to contact them via snail mail with a CD of your work rather than to walk in unannounced asking to have your work shown there. You might follow up with an email to ask if they received the CD and how they liked it. Most galleries are also frame shops. Don’t forget to patronize them!

Great Hang Ups gallery on Fleming Island is definitely one of our favorite places. Owner, Julia Higbe is a talented artist in her own right as is her mom and member Dee Roberts (oh and of course, Julia’s husband Michael is a fabulous potter)

The Art Center Cooperative has a gallery space where they often have group shows that are arranged through “Call to Artists”. You should definitely check out their website and get on their mailing list if possible.

Our local libraries happily show local artist’s work. The space varies and you should make a visit to see how the lighting is and how much work can be hung. Call tremor stop in to sign up (usually for a month at a time). This is an easy way to initially get your work out in the public eye. Libraries generally do not take a commission, but since they are often in need a small donation would be welcomed.
