Local Galleries, Venues & Frame Shops
Our local libraries happily show local artist’s work. The space varies and you should make a visit to see how the lighting is and how much work can be hung. Call or stop in to sign up (usually for a month at a time). This is an easy way to initially get your work out in the public eye. Libraries generally do not take a commission, but since they are often in need a small donation would be welcomed. Look up your local library and contact them for information.
Below are links to some local galleries. Remember that gallery owners are very busy people. It is best to contact them via email rather than to walk in unannounced asking to have your work shown there. You might follow up with a phone call to see if they saw your email. Most galleries are also frame shops, getting your work framed there is a great way to start a relationship.
